About Health Choice Advisor

Stephan Bushon founded Health Choice Advisor & Associates in 2007 to assist individuals and families with health insurance policies. Based in Southeast Michigan, the firm has since expanded to offer Medicare Advantage policies and a comprehensive range of retirement income planning strategies.

Stephan holds a Health, Life & Annuities license and is certified in Medicare insurance products and those on the Affordable Care Act exchange. His previous experience includes directing a large advisory firm’s income and retirement security division and leading their health benefits and Medicare division. He is a member of NABIP, National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals whose primary goal is to help and promote access to affordable health insurance coverage. Stephan has been featured in the Detroit Free Press and on the Lifeline show for his insights during the inception of the ACA during open enrollment seasons from 2015-2017.

Locally, Stephan is active in educating the community through senior Medicare expos and health fairs across Michigan. He has participated in Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) of Michigan panels that influenced current Medicare plans and was awarded Diamond Level Status with BCBS in 2017.

As the leader of Health Choice Advisor, Stephan has earned a reputation as a trusted advisor through his commitment to customer service and independent unbiased recommendations. His client-centric approach guides individuals and businesses through the complexities of small and large group benefits, individual health insurance, Medicare supplements, and Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug plans.

Born and raised in Michigan, Stephan holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Central Michigan University. He has been licensed in the financial services industry for over 19 years. He resides in Rochester Hills, Michigan, with his partner Katy, their four kids, and their dog. Stephan enjoys golfing, boating, racetrack driving, and spending time with family and friends in his spare time. A little-known fact about him is that he once met Pope John Paul II at the Vatican and attended a private mass in the Redemptoris Mater Chapel.
